Acadiane' Expeditions

The American Alligator is the largest reptile in North America. The first reptiles appeared 300 million years ago and ancestors of the American alligator appeared 160 million years ago. Reptiles are cold-blooded animals, which means their body temperature is regulated by the temperature of the environment around them. This is why alligators are seen basking in the sun, trying to regulate their body temperature. Because alligators are cold-blooded, their body rates are slowed down during the winter month to the point where they can no longer catch food efficiently. For this reason, alligators enter underground holes and remain dormant throughout the winter months.

Adventure South Guide Service

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my site. My name is Capt. Shane Mayfield and I own and operate Adventure South Guide Service. All of our fishing and hunting trips take place in the fertile Mississippi River Delta of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, which is located about 40 miles SSE of New Orleans. Born and raised in the area, I have spent countless hours on the surrounding bayous, bays, and marshes learning the fishing skills that have allowed me to become very consistent when it comes to putting my clients on fish, day in and day out. My fishing success is based on my relentless pursuit of, desire for, and dedication to the sport, as well as an extreme enthusiasm for my occupation. After all, "Not everyone can make a living doing what he or she loves; therefore, I realize that I am very fortunate to be able to do so." Unlike other so-called guide services, when fishing or hunting with Adventure South Guide Service, YOU will catch your own fish and shoot your own ducks. We will not catch them or shoot them for you. After all, "you pay us to take you to the game, not to take the game for you."

Bin There Hunting

A bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush, unless you prefer the hunt. Bin There Hunting is your professional hunting guide during the various game bird hunting seasons. Upland game bird hunting season goes from October 1st through April 30th, teal season begins in the middle of September and lasts 2 to 3 weeks, then the popular duck and geese season begins in November and lasts until late February. We are a licensed shooting preserve for upland birds, and we hunt throughout farmland, rice fields, timberline, and more. Our guided duck and goose hunts are over flooded rice fields in pit blinds. The special goose conservation season opens up between the first and second split of duck seasons, and opens up again in the beginning of February and runs until March. There is no limit on how many geese you can bag. In addition to our guided hunts and the hunting available on our preserve, we also have target-shooting areas with safety equipment provided. We provide trained and experienced dogs and handlers for all hunts.
